These pages are designed to enable learning and action on the many aspects of sustain-abilities. The intention is to provide and signpost resources that can help in dialogue and understanding, drawing on the multiple perspectives of complex societies and environments. Information is collated on:

  • concepts and definitions of sustainability and sustainable development (SD)
  • the state of the environment and ways of measuring sustainability (indicators, environmental impact assessment, etc.)
  • socio-political factors affecting human-environment interactions
  • the economic aspects of sustainability
  • news and events relating to sustainability

This project is evolving from two ideas - to provide resources for Environmental Science students and to provide information for people living in Plymouth interested in aspects of sustainability beyond a single interest group.
